UAE Heritage Events organised by DTCM is a prominent cultural activity during every Dubai Shopping Festival this year, The events will provide visitors and residents in Dubai a close glimpse of UAE’s rich cultural legacy. The events, organized by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), will be focused at two places, the Shindagah area and the Hatta Heritage Village during the period of DSF from January 24 to February 24.

The most important of the events at both these places will be an exhibition on
the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan titled ‘Zayed – the Enduring
Legacy’. Starting from his early childhood to his charismatic reign as President
of the UAE, the exhibition throws light on the life of a truly dynamic leader.
Khalid bin Gharib, Head of DSF Heritage Events Committee said, “The heritage events during DSF reflect the true traditions of UAE and its people. Apart from displaying our culture here, such events pave way for inter-cultural dialogue and encourage understanding of various cultures around the world.”
Shindagah will have three exhibition areas for the heritage events - The Heritage Village, the Diving Village, and the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House. These three areas will concentrate in various displays and activities on the numerous elements of UAE’s tradition.
Exhibits of handicrafts, traditional food, old living quarters, and attractions like the wedding shows are slated to be the highlights of Heritage Events. The exhibitions will be organized throughout DSF between 5 and 10pm. Visitors can watch the traditional wedding show on January 31, February 8, and February 25.
For those interested in the Omani music band shows, the Diving Village will host these between February 15 and 24. A display of urban wedding festivities will be held on February 2nd, 14th, and the 23rd.
The Hatta Heritage Village, will present a variety of traditional activities in addition to a Camel Carnival every Friday and Saturday between 5 and 10pm and an exclusive Pet Farm from 5 to 10pm throughout DSF.
Heritage Events present the ideal opportunity to learn more on UAE’s culture and at the same time provides a platform for an exchange of different cultures.
