Itinerary
Day 01 Pick up at 8 AM from Dubai (Pickup from Abu Dhabi is also possible)
Drive
by air-conditioned car/coach to Liwa. Liwa Oasis is situated in the south west
of Abu Dhabi on the edge of the great Empty Quarter desert (the largest of
Arabia), the exhilarating drive over the highest sand dunes in the world is
simply a unique and most spectacular experience you will ever encounter. Our
journey will take us towards Abu Dhabi, cruising through the multi lane highway
passing by Jebel Ali free zone and crossing the borders of Abu Dhabi. The drive
continues through tarmac road, sand tracks, along the famous oil pipelines. Our
first visit will be at the spectacular Heritage village of HH Shk. Hamdan, known
as the rainbow Sheikh, situated in the midst of the desert, it houses two of
his magnificent inventions; a giant truck built at 7 times the scale of its
normal brother and a mega globe structure, a unique architecture similar to a
giant caravan with different layers and chambers. We then continue towards the
south passing some magnificent desert landscape and stop for lunch at the famous
Liwa Hotel.
After lunch, the real adventure will begin , first we will visit a camel farm where our guides be happy to lecture you about this marvellous beast and its vital importance in the life the bedus. We continue our drive on tarmac road towards the Moreb hill, an interesting site in the midst of some gigantic dunes especially built by the authorities in Abu Dhabi to exhibit specialized desert races twice a year. Our adventure will take off from here into the vast sea of sand and we will climb the steepest of sand dunes and roll down in a roller coaster style, the adrenaline level will gradually increase and the drive will get more and more exciting especially when you start hearing the sound of "Sand Avalanche" a very unique experience which can only be experienced in the sand dunes of Liwa area. We will pass numerous desert reserves and if lucky, we might spot some of the rare and indigenous species of Arabia; the Arabian gazelle, which used to roam the desert in the past and were threatened to the extinction, thanks to the effort of HH. Sheikh Zayed, who, succeeded in re-introducing and protecting them. Another attraction on this tour will be the sighting of the unique "Sand Roses" which are basically a form of crystallized gypsum forming under the salt flats called "Sabkhas" and have different shapes which looks much like a rose flower with open petals.
Next we will stop to watch the beautiful sunset, meanwhile our guides will set up the camping area and will cook you a mouth-watering BBQ. Enjoy the emptiness of the desert and watch the night sky decorated by millions of stars! And do not forget to keep that wish for this brilliant shooting star!
Day 02 Wake up early and watch the sun rising in the endless horizon, we will serve you a light breakfast after which we will bid farewell to this fairy tale and drive you to your hotel.

Before heading back to the tarmac you may wish to try one of the latest in desert sport namely sand skiing where you can test your skills in sliding "surfing" on sand!

- Our services include:
- Two way roundtrip transfers from and to your place of residence in Mini coaches and/or 4x4
- Safari tours are carried out with the latest models 4x4 vehicles, fully equipped with safety gear and fully insured
- All our guides are English speaking and have undergone extensive training in off-road driving skills as well as first aid
- Meals and drinks are provided as per tour details
- Overnighter may use the Liwa Hotel facility (Pool & changing rooms) free of charge
- We carry a maximum of 6 passengers per car in our off-road excursions
- Reservation terms & conditions
- All reservations should be confirmed in writing by filling out our online reservation form 4 days prior to tour date
- All bookings must be fully paid in advance together with our written confirmation
- Cancellation fees equal to 50% of tour rate will be refunded if cancelled in writing within 48 hours prior to tour date
- Cancellations received within 48 hours prior to tour date will not be entitled to any refund
- We accept cash payment and credit card (visa & master)
Travel & Culture Adventures reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any tour prior to departure and to decline to accept or return any persons as a member of a tour at any time. In particular, due to the nature of many of the tours, safaris and other activities, delays and cancellations may result from factors beyond Travel & Culture's control, such as the weather, sickness, strikes, disputes, and other events of force majeure
In such cases, a refund or partial refund may be given
at the discretion of Travel & Culture and/or the operator of the tour, safari or
other activity concerned, but is not guaranteed.
General safety guidelines
All our vehicles are fully equipped for off-road driving conditions (recovery/first aid/gps/mobile)
Elderly guests with heart conditions as well as expectant mothers are not advised to join our day safari
All guests are requested to read our safety sheet presented by our guides before starting their journey
We kindly ask our guests not to litter our beautiful desert as well as to refrain from disturbing/damaging/collecting any valuable objects from the natural environment (plants, animals, sand roses, etc.)
Due to the stringent laws and measures implemented by the Abu Dhabi government in regards to the protection of natural environment and surroundings as well as in keeping with the policies of having a pollution free environment, we strictly advise our clients to refrain from littering, taking and/or collecting any objects/items of natural/historical value during their tour
